KINETIC EDGE

01Performance

Build the physical qualities your sport demands.

Strength and conditioning at Kinetic Edge starts with what the sport asks of the athlete, and works backwards. Physical qualities are assessed, trained deliberately and re-tested — so training is directed at what actually needs to change.

01What this covers

Inside strength & conditioning.

  1. 01

    Strength

The foundation everything else is built on. Trained progressively and to a standard the sport can use.

  2. 02

    Power

The ability to express strength quickly — developed through loading and velocity, not one or the other.

  3. 03

    Speed

Maximum velocity mechanics and the qualities that support them, coached rather than assumed.

  4. 04

    Acceleration

The first steps. Force applied into the ground in the right direction, in the time the sport allows.

  5. 05

    Agility

Reacting to what is happening — reading the situation, then moving, under time pressure.

  6. 06

    Change of Direction

Decelerating, re-orienting and re-accelerating with control at the angles the sport demands.

  7. 07

    Conditioning

Built against the work-to-rest patterns of the sport, not against generic endurance targets.

  8. 08

    Movement Quality

Positions, control and coordination under load — the base that allows training to progress.

  9. 09

    Long-Term Development

Blocks of work that build on each other, planned around the competitive calendar.

  10. 10

    Injury Resilience

Addressing the qualities and asymmetries that leave an athlete exposed, before they cost them a season.

02Sports-specific conditioning

Conditioned for the sport, not for the treadmill.

Conditioning is built from the work-to-rest patterns, distances and intensities of the sport itself. A badminton player, a sprinter and a footballer do not need the same engine, and they are not trained as though they do.

  • Demands of the sport analysed first
  • Position and event specific
  • Planned around the competitive calendar
  • Progressed and re-tested, not repeated
